I have also suggested the use a compact flash card to move the files between the machines but I am getting a lot of flack about this. Originally, I thought perhaps I could use PPP and drive sharing to get the device to show up on the network and these developers could just drag and drop files to the device like

In order to share files, or printers, or an internet connection between a Mac and a PC, the PC will need special software called PC MacLAN by Thursby Systems. This will allow the PC to "see" the Mac's HFS+ drive and treat it like another PC drive. Once you have PC MacLAN running, sharing becomes quite easy.

Is there a way we could use the USB ports on both computers to transfer files? Would we need any additional hardware or specific software? Thanks for any help. Marc. Your PB can mount the remote iDisk as as if it were a local drive. Your PC can upload the file into the Public folder on your iDisk.

Q: what's the most efficient way to transfer files from the PM to the PB? I managed to do some over the modems using my two phone lines but want something faster. The problems started (perhaps coincidence) when 4 months ago I started using Limewire file-sharing program. I knew there was a risk but figured nobody makes viruses for Macintoshes. Anyway, first weird things started happening, like music files being mysteriously rearranged, and the PB getting slower.

Not sure if you've tried this, but If you're not using IDE HDs then disable the IDE interface in the Bios, same goes for the USB ports if they're not in use - if you're on a LAN then you don't necessarily need the floppy drive connected, this should all release IRQs, now getting your cards to use them is another

I don't need Sharity(http://www.obdev.at/products/sharity/index.html) to share files on a Mac. Sharing is two-fold with the Mac being multi=user, There are other differences - PC has no FW, 4 USB, VGA-out only; No DVI is a deal-breaker right there. I use my PB at my desk, clamshell closed, 80-100% of the time.
